The path of our team
In the past, addicts help addicts
Сергей Макаров Coordinator of the International Anti-Drug Association in Ukraine
Sergey is grateful that he has the opportunity to help addicts find a suitable rehabilitation program. For many families, he is the first person they contact. He advises on the rehabilitation program and treatment options. Sergey works around the clock, consults both addicts and their loved ones, helps them find help. Sergei spent 10 years of his life in the slavery of opium addiction, until he entered the recovery program and gained sobriety. In 2010, Sergey started working at the Dnepropetrovsk branch of the IAA. At the very beginning of his path as a volunteer at a rehabilitation center, a specialist in the prevention department of the RC “Transformation” and at the moment is the coordinator of the all-Ukrainian prevention department of the International Anti-Drug Association. Sergei stubbornly paves the way for treatment for addicts and gambling addicts who, like he himself once were, are lost and desperately need a way out of the nightmare of addiction. Sergey defends the rights of any person who has decided to change his life, he is unshakable in his firm conviction that regardless of who this person is, regardless of how many times he / she tried to be treated and they failed, every addict has a chance to freedom from addiction.
“We are here so that you have the opportunity to undergo an individual rehabilitation program that will help you change your life and recover. Our main goal is to help you undergo treatment and then return to the real world, return to work, to your family and return to real life. ”

While working as a psychiatrist, Sergei Pavlovich was faced with the fact that drugs alone are not enough to improve the patient’s condition, he saw that sometimes a conversation with a patient brings a greater effect than drug therapy. This was the time when he asked himself the question: “What additional knowledge and skills could help my wards?” The answer came immediately – Psychotherapy. From 2002 to 2006, he studied at the School of Modern Psychotherapy of the Ukrainian Society of Psychotherapists in a client-centered direction. He considers the main achievement of this training that thanks to the training, he began to understand himself better, live in peace with his feelings and emotions, accept himself and those around him as they are. He continued to improve his knowledge and skills at the Crimean State Medical University, having received the specialization of a doctor-psychotherapist. In 2009 he got acquainted with such a direction of psychology as Socionics. This expanded his understanding of the psychological nature of man. From 2011 to the present, she has been studying at the School of Modern Psychotherapy of the Ukrainian Society of Psychotherapists in the direction of group psychoanalysis. Sergey Pavlovich has significant experience of working with clients both individually and in a group in such areas as addiction, relapse prevention, loss reaction, family psychotherapy. “It so happens that I believe in Psychotherapy. Seeing how the client is changing, how his personal growth is going on, his mental well-being improves, his resistance to the aggression of today’s world is increasing, I am more and more convinced of the correctness of the path I have chosen. ”
